We’re excited to bring you the latest release of the most popular package management interface in the AUR repository, Octopi.
The main features in version 0.18.0 include:
- Some important bug fixes, such as multiple calls to “pacman -Si” when package hints were displayed, the qt-sudo tool respecting language preferences, a more efficient way to detect whether Octo tools are being run from their default directories, and more;
- Using “garuda-update” script whenever the user triggers an update from within Garuda Linux;
- Support for adding and removing ignored packages in the /etc/pacman.conf configuration file using the context menu;
- Support for running a specific user-defined shell script (present in “/usr/lib/octopi/pre-system-upgrade.sh“) before a system update;
- Ability to force the use of the Bash shell in the integrated Terminal to solve issues with specific shells;
- Added the pacman-key tool to refresh the cryptographic keys used in package signing;
- Modernization of the Options dialog, replacing the dull top tabs with a handful of attractive icons.
